SXSW Panel Picker Time

August 21st, 2007

It’s that time of year again. The SXSW planning committee is using the panel picker to select panels this year. My panel this year is The Art of Visual Thinking. Visual Thinking is the practice of using pictures to solve problems, think through issues and communicate messages clearly. It’s really not new concept as visual communication has long been used by indigenous cultures in art, storytelling and history. It has helped shape languages and communication styles around the world. This panel is designed to help you learn how to present ideas visually, cut through clutter and explain ideas in a more concise and understandable manner. Lots of what we will talk about will be pulled directly from things we do in the office to develop creative and visual thinking skills, my personal activities and those of the panelists. Confirmed is Ed Schipul of Schipul The Web Company here in Houston. (Ed did a great summary of this and several other panels, one of which “We Heart You…Growing Your Business From Within” I would also be on.) I am actually pretty excited about We heart you as well because it’s really a topic near and dear to my heart.

Other panels of interest as Accessible Rich Media and Hey! People with disabilities vote too! (which will most likely cover making social media accessible)
The panel picker closes on September 21 2007. So make sure you vote!
